Our new orchard for 2014, planted on 30th November and a second group of trees planted in March 2015 by the Greenham Community Youth Project.
Four new varieties have been planted here - Bramleys Seedling, Bountiful and St Edmund's Pippin, courtesy of Greenacres Nursery in Pamber Green.
The fourth new variety is a new departure for us. Bred by Derek Shaw in the group, it's an as-yet Unnamed apple found in the hedgerows of Newbury. We want to give it a chance to grow and taste the fruit - and if it's delicious enough we'll look for a West Berkshire themed name to launch it on a unsuspecting world.
